David Romero, Youth Ministries
David knew he had a calling into ministry ever since he was a little boy. Born in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico to a Christian family, he knew the importance of God and that he existed for God’s glory and to testify about Christ. David, his father Pedro, his mother Lucia, and his sister Ruth call Trinity-First United Methodist Church their home church since 2004. As a long-time Methodist and a previous youth at TFUMC, he knew he wanted to serve the Lord and be in church leadership where he could fully minister and help grow young people to be Christ like and have a heart for God like he does.
As the Youth Ministries Coordinator, David is excited to rejuvenate Youth Ministries with the guidance and blessing of the Lord. In 1 Timothy 4:12, it states “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” David plans to do exactly this as he mentors the youth and as he completes his education at the University of Texas at El Paso. Once completing his degree in History with a minor in Religious Studies, he plans to enter seminary to become a pastor. With great role models in his life like his father Pastor Pedro, who serves our Spanish Ministry, David is looking forward to his new journey as our Youth Ministries Coordinator.
